When you fill your grey container with recyclables, and put your food scraps and food-soiled paper in the green container, it is always important to avoid contamination. Remove wires and ribbons from wreaths and flower arrangements before composting. Metallic or glitter gift wrap, bags and boxes should be put in the trash when they can no longer be reused.
When you keep trash and problem materials out of the Compost and Recycling, you are giving a gift of safety to sorting workers, and a gift of quality resources to our earth and our economy.
And don’t forget to properly set out your holiday tree for collection December 26-January 12. Details here.
