Recycling Outside

Parks, Recreation Centers,
and Business Districts

Approximately 25 parks in Oakland have recycling containers, thanks to grants from the California Department of Conservation and the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and Source Reduction and Recycling Board.

Here is a set of recycling and garbage containers at Lakeside Park's, Rotary Nature Center:

Recycling containers are also available in shopping areas. Due to grants from the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and Source Reduction and Recycling Board, the San Pablo/Golden Gate and the MLK/Telegraph Avenue business districts have recycling receptacles built into the garbage containers. Oakland Recycles, a service of the City of Oakland Public Works Agency's Environmental Services Division, provides recycling services that help Oaklanders recycle at home, at work, at school, at play, and during construction.
