5th Annual Plant Daffodils!
Who should plant? Youth groups, neighborhood organizations, church groups, school clubs, students, service organizations – anyone, as long as they are volunteers. You or your group can receive up to 200 free daffodil bulbs for planting in public locations . Once you plant the daffo dils, you are considered the area steward and a participant of the City of Oakland’s Public Works Agency Adopt-A-Spot program and agree to keep the daffodil project site looking nice, litter and weed-free.
Where do I plant? The bulbs must be planted in public locations, such as parks, with City of Oakland approval. Choose a sunny place with good drainage where people can enjoy the blooms – hillsides are good. Planting instructions are available online at www.keepoaklandbeautiful.org
When do I plant? The official planting days are from November 1 st up to the 8 th , but you can plant your bulbs any time before the end of November.
Deadline to "Adopt-A-Spot for Daffodil Bulbs” is Oct 15, 2008.
